6-Day Tour from Marrakech to Fes

The first journey begins as we leave Marrakech and cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi N'Tichka pass, which stands at an altitude of 2,260 meters. Our next stop is the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, an old and fortified village known for its beautiful Kasbahs. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a perfect synthesis of the earthen architecture of the pre-Saharan regions of Morocco. After lunch, we will head toward Boumalne Dades, passing through Ouarzazate (the Hollywood of Africa), the Palm Grove of Skoura, and the beautiful Roses Valley.

After breakfast, we continue to Tinghir and the spectacular Todra Gorges for a short walk. We then head to the Erg Chebbi dunes, passing through Tinjdad, the Oasis of Tafilalet near Erfoud, and Rissani. Upon reaching Erg Chebbi, you will join a camel trek across the high sand dunes. Enjoy the beautiful sunset from a high dune before riding camels to your desert camp for the night. After dinner, listen to Berber music played by local nomads under the stars.

Wake up early to enjoy the beautiful desert sunrise. After breakfast, explore the Erg Chebbi region with an off-road drive to visit nomadic families living around the sand dunes, sharing mint tea and learning about their unique lifestyle. Visit the M'Fis mines on a high plateau offering panoramic views, then head to Khamlia Village (Gnaoua Village) to learn about their culture and enjoy traditional music. Lunch features delicious Berber pizza.

After breakfast, leave the desert and travel toward Midelt, passing through Rissani and Erfoud. If the visit coincides with local markets (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays), explore the souk - the largest market in the region. Continue through the impressive Ziz Valley near Er-Rich city with a stop to enjoy panoramic views of the Ziz Canyon before reaching Midelt for overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Fes traveling through the cedar forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains, keeping an eye out for Barbary apes. Stop in Ifrane, located at 1,630 meters above sea level and nicknamed 'Moroccan Switzerland' for its broad avenues, beautiful gardens, and Swiss-like appearance. Continue the journey to Fes, arriving around 6 PM.

Explore the important sights and monuments of Fez, one of the oldest cultural and spiritual cities in the world, founded in 790 A.D. Visit Al-Qarawiyyin University (the world's first established university), Bou Inania Madrasa, the Jewish District (Mellah), traditional Souks, the amazing Tanneries, and Bab Boujloud. Lunch at a typical Moroccan restaurant in the old Medina. The tour includes a panoramic view of the whole Old Medina of Fes.
